Version 1.1 Feedback Request

I intend to do one final optimization pass and polish update for the Gumboy in 1-2 months. Unless any severe issues occur in future VRChat updates, this will be the only update for the foreseeable future. Due to this, I wanted to reach out and get feedback from players. Any and all feedback is welcome, and if you have a significant amount of time (more than an hour or two) playing the Gumboy your feedback would be extremely valuable, even if all you say is "It's been working great!"

Please give suggestions or criticisms through a Gumroad review, messages to my 'gumbosupport' discord account (the account is in the VRChat official server, if you need a shared server) OR as comments to this post.

I will take EVERY suggestion into consideration, but do understand that due to the complexity of this asset that any additions that would increase the performance impact/limitations of VRChat will be unlikely to be added. I hope to have the update be compatible with the current version, so all you will have to do is drag-and-drop into unity and let it patch your existing files! (Depending on the scope of the update, this may not be possible)

Current plans for 1.1:

Reduce animator layer count and clean up the animator
Make compatible with both Write Defaults on and off
Add separate installation instructions that don't require VRCFury
- This would prevent having to wait 2-5 minutes each time you build your avatar due to how long VRCFury takes with this asset.
Add a left-hand prefab/rotation instruction
Add a music toggle to allow VS music to be played in Solo Play
Fix minor bugs (please report ANY bugs that have been detrimental to enjoying the Gumboy!)
- Known Issues
- The falling piece appears on the splash screen when loading an ongoing game
- SFX selection does not save between avatar loads
- Resetting your own avatar through OSC toggling, or changing safety settings can de-sync remote user's display of your Gumboy
Change radial menu clarity/address controller complaints (Please let me know what control method you've preferred!)
Maybe add an "Aggressive" damage setting for multiplayer that makes damage sent == lines cleared (?)

Feedback from the public demo is just as valuable as from those who have installed the asset themself, so please reach out to anyone you know that has used it if you think they would like to give feedback!

Reviews mean a lot to the project, so if you haven't run into any issues and the game has performed to expectations please consider reviewing it! Sharing around the Gumboy with friends (either through the store page or the public demo) also helps a ton, and I love to see more and more people discovering it and being excited every day.

I really wanted to express my gratitude towards everyone who has been supporting the Gumboy, it's been wonderful seeing so many excited about it and I really hope it has lived up to expectations. I want to continue creating games and gadgets for VRChat that are accessible to the whole community, so the support just allows me to do that more going into the future 🤍
